A woman who spent the night of June 12, 2014 with Beyoncé Knowles has described how the superstar slept on the floor after being woken at 5am by a security guard.
Sheila E. was staying at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, when she came across the musician and her husband, Jay Z, outside of the hotel’s pool area.
“I saw Beyoncé and Jay Z just chatting and she was getting back up,” E. told reporters on Monday. “She was just standing and Jay Z was kneeling down to talk to her. I walked over and introduced myself. Jay Z was like, ‘Hey, how are you?’ She said she was tired, and she had just woken up at 5am with a guard.
“He asked where my daughter was and I told him that she was at my grandmother’s house. He then asked about her and I told him that she was sleeping at my grandmother’s house that night,” E. said.
The singer explained that he asked who she was with and after she told him she was with a cousin, he asked her to tell him her name and address.
“I said, ‘My name is Sheila and I’m at number 22.’ He then asked if I was her boyfriend and I did tell him that I was her boyfriend,” she said.
E. said she told him that her daughter was “really, really sick”.
“He said, ‘If she dies, you have to live with your grandma.’ He then asked about her address.
“I told him that it was a secret and that I would be living with her grandmother. He asked if she would like me to go with her, and I said yes.”
